I would like to congratulate the ANU staff members who have been awarded Citations for Outstanding Contributions to Student Learning as part of the Australian Government Awards for University Teaching.

These national Citations recognise the most innovative, committed and passionate university educators across the country.

I am delighted to announce that two lecturers from ANU have been selected to receive this prestigious award: Dr Krisztina Valter from the ANU Medical School and the ARC Centre of Excellence in Vision Science and first-year chemistry coordinator, Dr Mark Ellison, also a national chemistry teaching award winner.

These Citations are recognition of the exceptional standard of educators and courses we have here at ANU. Mark and Krisztina’s dedication to their students is outstanding and it is wonderful to see their hard work rewarded on a national level.

I would also like to congratulate the staff at the Centre for Higher Education, Learning and Teaching, who assisted Mark and Krisztina with their applications, and the other recipients of the 2012 Awards for University Teaching.
