This week ANU Reporter launched as a rich digital edition and a radical new-look print edition.
This represents the biggest change to ANU Reporter since the first edition rolled off the press in February 1970.
In this edition we celebrate an extraordinary moment in the University’s history. In the final months of 2013, the ANU community celebrated the achievements of Burmese Opposition Leader and Nobel Peace Laureate Daw Aung San Suu Kyi, Indonesian Vice-President Boediono, and Indonesian Minister for Tourism and Creative Industry Mari Pangestu with three honorary doctorate conferrals.
We also celebrate the achievements of our own community. Associate Professor Zsuzsoka Kecskes, a neonatal specialist, is ACT Australian of the Year, and disability advocate and ANU alumnus Huy Nguyen is ACT Young Australian of the Year. Recent Migration Law graduate Niki Bruno has her own inspiring story, overcoming cancer to complete her studies and establish her own business. All three have made, and continue to make, outstanding contributions to our community.
The renewal of ANU Reporter is appropriate for a year that we will be focused on change and renewal at ANU, and ensuring the future of this great institution is as exceptional as its history.
